Girona claimed a key three points on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Albacete at the Estadi de Montilivi in LaLiga Hypermotion matchday seven. Early goals from Abel Ruiz and Donny van de Beek, coupled with key saves from Paulo Gazzaniga, allowed the Catalan side to maintain their positive momentum and solidify third place in the table with 13 points.

Abel Ruiz opened the scoring in the sixth minute, finishing a move involving Javier Boñar and Lluis López. Donny van de Beek doubled the lead before halftime following a cross from Carles Pérez and a deflection by Carlos Marín. Albacete, managed by Alberto González, created chances through Fran Gámez, Víctor Valverde and Álex Rubio, but Gazzaniga was decisive, making a stunning one-handed save to deny Gámez. The visitors finished with ten men after Sergio Ortuño's late red card.

This result leaves Girona just three points behind leaders Castellón. For the latest squad information, check the full squad list.
