Girona will benefit from the participation of Axel Witsel and Azzedine Ounahi in the 2026 World Cup. The club will receive 240,000 euros for the presence of the two players in the tournament. According to the FIFA Club Benefits Program, each club will receive 5,000 dollars (approximately 4,300 euros) per day from the final concentration to the day they are eliminated. In the worst case, if they do not pass the group stage, Witsel will generate at least 120,000 euros that could be, quietly, a few more. The same, more or less, as Ounahi, because if both advance to the next round, the amount will increase each day until they are eliminated. Whatever the case, the 240,000 euros will not be taken away from Girona. Additionally, FIFA also plans to allocate 100 million dollars to clubs that released players for the World Cup qualifying matches. Here also enter Tsygankov and Vanat, apart from Witsel, because Ounahi played the qualification while not belonging to Girona. This amounts to approximately 2,000 euros per player and a total of approximately 22,000 euros in this sense.
