Girona is taking a fundamental step in its history with the construction of the City Football Academy, a project that will be a main pillar for the club's future in LaLiga Santander. Girona president Delfí Geli states that this project is a step forward for the club's consolidation in LaLiga Santander. The City Football Academy will have 23 hectares and seven fields for the first men's and women's teams, the LaLiga Genuine team, and the youth football team. The project will be financed 70% with funds from the Plan Impulso infrastructure plan. Geli explains that Girona joined the agreement with CVC because it was an opportunity for the club. The team has promising players who are already a reality, such as Arnau Martínez, Santi Bueno, Miguel Gutiérrez, Aleix García, or Viktor Tsygankov. The City Football Academy will reaffirm the club's commitment to young talent. The project does not depend on the category, on the contrary, and would not be affected by a potential relegation to Segunda. The investment will be around 25 million euros. Girona has returned this season to LaLiga Santander to live its third adventure in the elite of Spanish football. The club is on the path to consolidating itself in the elite and improving every day. Girona president Delfí Geli is excited about the project and states that it is a fundamental step in the club's history. The City Football Academy will be a main pillar for Girona's future.
