Girona's Preseason Starts July 8
Girona already has a roadmap to start walking. After a month of vacation after the tough outcome of the last season, Girona's players are running out of free days before returning to work and starting the 2026/2027 preseason, the first with Quique Álvarez in charge of the first team.
Friendlies and Preparation
The squad is scheduled to meet on July 8 in La Massana, where players will undergo routine medical checks before starting the first training sessions of the course. This will be the starting point of a completely new stage, marked by the relegation to Segunda División, the departure of Míchel, and the need to rebuild a competitive project to fight for promotion.
Girona has already planned a good part of the preparation. During the first days, they will work in Vilablareix, and later they will move to the Vall d’en Bas to hold a concentration at the Royalverd Training Center between July 20 and 25.
Young Players and Loaned Players
One of the main focuses will be on young players from the academy and those returning from loans. Quique Álvarez and Quique Cárcel will have to decide which young players will start the preseason with the first team. Names like Kim Minsu and Jastin García, who were loaned to Andorra, appear well-positioned to have an opportunity during the first weeks.
