Girona will undergo many changes in the squad this summer and they are gradually being confirmed. One of them is not precisely minor: Juan Carlos will put an end to his stage in the club as reported by Diari de Girona. The goalkeeper, absolutely key in the last stage in Segunda, will leave the club after seven red-and-white seasons. The love story between Juan Carlos and Girona started in the summer of 2019, when he arrived after two good campaigns in Lugo. In his first course in Montilivi, he started as a starter but the arrival of Asier Riesgo relegated him to the bench. He played half the course (21 games) in a season marked by instability in the bench, as Unzué, Moreno, Pep Lluís Martí and Francisco directed a team that did not manage to ascend. The following season he was again a substitute, but that substitute lasted only two games. The ones that Francisco took to sit Muric. With the arrival of Míchel and the consequent ascension, his involvement in the team was uncontested. In the four seasons that the goalkeeper has lived with Girona in Primera, he has only been able to defend the team's goal in 10 Liga games, all in the first season after ascending. In the last three he has not played a single minute (the last one was not even available due to a serious knee injury) but he has been a key piece in the locker room. Míchel always valued his contribution, his experience and his professionalism.
